Manqaza, Yemen

Rabeha Solar has donated and installed the first 'Solar Water Pump' by dua Mubarak of Aqa Maula (TUS), in Manqaza, Yemen.

Villages in Haraaz area face extreme difficulties due to lack of water. There are water wells but due to lack of electricity, Yemeni Mumineen take out water by hand as you see in the photograph. Water in the well was available at 15 meter or 50 feet.

Rabeha Solar has now installed a unique Solar Water Pump on the auspicious day of urs Mubarak of Syedi Fakhruddin Shaheed A.Q. (27th Moharram, 1435). The installation consists of solar panels that capture sunlight. A controller starts a pump that is submerged under the well and fills a water tank at the surface. Hundreds of liters of water gets pumped out during the 8 hours of daylight.

Mumineen in this town were extremely excited. It was like magic to them. They could not believe that without a diesel generator one can get water out of a well, simply with the help of power from the sun.

We thank Shaikh Murtaza Bhai Dahodwala and family of Boston, USA for this donation of Solar Water Pump.

The cost of installing a single solar water pump is US $2900. We plan to install solar systems in the houses of hundreds of needy mumineen and if you wish to donate in this noble cause, please contact us.
